Important Disclosures

Clear, upfront information about how Direct Primary Care and medical cost sharing operate, our legal status, advisory compensation, and state availability.

01

Beacon is not an insurance agency

Beacon Health Benefits is not an insurance agency and does not sell insurance. We help individuals and families explore alternatives to insurance, including Direct Primary Care, health care sharing, and discount plans. We don't sell, quote, or recommend insurance plans. If insurance is a better fit for you, we'll point you to HealthCare.gov or a licensed agent.

02

Health care sharing is not insurance

Health care sharing ministries and medical cost-sharing communities are not insurance and are not regulated as insurance. Sharing of medical expenses is voluntary and not guaranteed. Review each organization's guidelines for details, limitations, and state-specific notices.

Sedera's own guidelines state that Sedera “is not an insurance company nor is it insurance.” Sedera is not minimum essential coverage under the Affordable Care Act and does not satisfy state individual mandates in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, or Washington, DC.

03

Direct primary care is not insurance

Direct primary care (DPC) is a membership for defined primary care services. It does not cover hospital, emergency room, or specialist care.

04

Discount plans are not insurance

THIS PLAN IS NOT INSURANCE and is not intended to replace health insurance.

Dental and other discount plans (such as Careington) provide pre-negotiated discounts at participating providers; they do not pay providers directly. They are not ACA-qualified health benefit plans.

05

How we're compensated

We may receive advisory compensation from some organizations we recommend, including Sedera. This does not change our evaluation of how they work, and it doesn't change the price you pay.

06

Program Availability

As of October 2026, Sedera is not accepting new members in California, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Vermont, or Washington. New members must be between ages 18 and 64. Availability can change without notice.

07

Prices and examples

Prices on this site are set directly by the programs, are shown “as of” a specific date, and can change. All examples presented are illustrative and do not constitute binding quotes.

08

Not professional medical, legal, or tax advice

Information on this site is general in nature and does not constitute medical, legal, or tax advice. Consult certified professionals regarding your specific situation.

09

Your Information & Data Usage

When you request a quote, Beacon Health Benefits uses your information solely to contact you about your request. We do not sell or rent your personal details. Review our Privacy Policy for full details on data protection.
